Meet our Golf Professional – Stefan Ackermann
Stefan Ackermann was born in South Africa where he developed a keen interest in the game of golf and started playing at a young age. After completing the PGA Diploma at Centurion Academy he then continued acquiring further practical experience through Irene Country Club, where he had been a member since his junior days. In 2015 he joined the PGA of South Africa and he continued his development, becoming a full member in 2016. In 2016 he moved to the United Arab Emirates and worked in the golf industry in Abu Dhabi. Stefan is a very active and enthusiastic professional who is passionate about golf and is eager to grow the game. He aims to get more people of all age groups, genders and ethnic backgrounds playing the game of golf.

Meet our Assistant Golf Professional - Johnny Mallon
I have been a member of the Club since I was seven years old. I have represented the Club at every level from junior up to senior golf. When I was 16 I earned a three year scholarship from Darren Clarke to attend a Golf Academy in Essex and subsequently turned professional and played the Europro Tour, Jamega Tour and the Challenge Tour.

The way Johnny takes time to explain things about your golf swing & make sure that you can understand them is brilliant, also using live video to break it all down for you makes things simple, I left the lesson with video & notes I’d taken with Johnny to revert back to when things start drifting out of place again. If you are thinking of working on your game & want to make improvements that will be quick but also last then I cannot recommend Johnny highly enough. After retiring from work, I booked an introductory course of 6 sessions with Stefan to help me get underway with golf, a sport I always wanted to have a go at. Despite hitting fresh air many times, Stefan gave me loads of encouragement and instilled the essentials for holding the clubs and striking a golf ball properly. Two years later, I still recall the detail of those sessions when the game is not going so well and is in need of a refresh. Stefan has offered subsequent support with course management and areas in which I want to improve. His coaching experience, patience and friendly manner were key to my development, dispelling some of the distracting advice from Youtubers and Internet ‘experts’ along the way.
